Rich Kinney, Board President, Chair

Rich is a native Californian who has lived the last 41 years in the San Francisco East Bay area. After earning a BA degree in Music Pedagogy he managed several businesses and also was a sole proprietor business owner. While pastoring a small inner-city Church he served as police chaplain, assistant basketball coach, teacher, city council member and served as mayor in 2016 and 2019. Rich also teaches public speaking, is a Board Member for the San Pablo Economic Development Corporation, President of San Pablo Rotary, and is a member of the San Pablo Eagles. He formed Apostle City Ministries in 2018, a faith-based community development nonprofit charity committed to helping meet the needs of the San Pablo community.

Basil N. Hicks, Board Vice President

Basil is from Fiji and is of Samoan descent. He’s married to Kasanita and they have three sons and seven grandchildren. Basil is a trained Dive Master and welder. He Pastored a church in Fiji and later served as a coordinator with Evangelism Explosion in the mid Pacific islands. He and his wife now live on a reservation in northern California and serve as Missionaries to Native Americans.

Cindy Ponce, Board Secretary, Treasurer

Cindy is a Professional Bookkeeper serving Small Businesses and small/medium sized Churches for more than fifteen years. She has a twenty year background in the Title Industry as an Escrow Officer and Office Manager. She also facilitates donations to people in need within the community and multiple Native Reservations.

Kylan Patterson, Board Member

Kylan is a Sr. Preferred Banker at First Republic Bank and has been in the Finance Industry for over 15 years in a variety of banking and wealth management roles. He specializes in wealth planning, private banking, and lending. He is passionate about helping clients succeed and also passionate about serving his community and those less fortunate. Kylan says, “I am proud to serve on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Contra Costa as Treasurer, and I am also a member of the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area.”

Ali Saif, Board Member

Ali is from Richmond, CA but currently resides in Bakersfield – Kern County. He’s an Account Director at Yelp Inc. with the primary responsibility of filling marketing/advertising needs for businesses within the SMB sector. He’s had the pleasure of working for Yelp for roughly 5 years specializing in client acquisition, identifying market trends within the platform, consulting business owners against those trends, and negotiating contract terms. During that time he has accomplished over $1M in booked revenue, gained 6 internal promotions, and led the San Francisco branch in most booked revenue. Back home in the bay area, he helps his father manage their small business in San Pablo that’s been in the family for about 15 years. Ali says, “I am ready and overjoyed to collaborate and combine our unique experiences to help those most in need in San Pablo.”
